Server URL

Premium Live Channels support redundant contribution channels. There are two Flux Contribution Gateways in each region, operating in separate physical data centers. This protects against stream failure in the event of network congestion, hardware failure, or other unpredictable issues.

When creating a Premium Live Channel, you will be provided two Server URLs. It is recommended to use two different encoders, connected to the internet by two separate physical layer connections. For example - one Makito X4 connected to a fiber internet connection, and one LiveU connected to a bonded cellular connection.

Mode

SRT can be in either Listener, Caller, or Rendezvous modes. For connection to the Flux Contribution Gateway, you should configure your encoder in Caller mode.

Port

When creating a Premium Live Channel, you will be provided a Port Number. Configure your encoder to use this Port Number.

Encryption

When creating a Premium Live Channel, you will be provided an Encryption Passphrase. This passphrase is used to end-to-end encrypt your content between your encoder and the Flux Contribution Gateway.

Configure your encoder for AES-256 with this provided passphrase.

Latency

Latency is recommended to be set to at least 5x the Total Round Trip Time (TRT). This value can be found in most popular SRT encoders - such as Makito, LiveU, and OBS.

We recommend as a preferred transport protocol for Premium Live Channels. SRT is a modern industry standard for transporting live video at low latency across unpredictable networks, such as the public internet. SRT supports error correction and encryption of live content.
