Groups allow you to create reusable components that can be used to help create consistent design and functionality throughout your site.
In the Page Editor, select the module you want to convert into a Group. Right click on the Module and select Convert into a Group
. After entering a name for your Group, the Module Card and border will turn green to indicate the instance is a Group.
You'll find a list of Groups in the Modules panel on the left side of the Page Editor. These Groups can be dragged onto a page exactly the same as Modules.
Group Defaults are the values which are the defaults which apply when first adding an instance of a Group to a page.
Overrides are values added to an instance which override the Group Defaults only on the specific instance in which they where set.
For example, if you have a Styled Button Group, and override the Button Label value, that text will only change on that single button.
However, if you edit the Group Default for the Button Label value, that text will change for all instances which do not have an Override applied.
When selecting a Group on a Page, you'll see these buttons in the Settings Pane:
Selecting Edit Default will allow you to edit the Group Defaults for all modules.
Selecting Add Overrides will allow you to override values for this specific Group instance.
Selecting Clear all overrides will remove all Overrides from this Group Instance, reverting the instance back to the Defaults.
Groups can only be deleted if no instances exist anywhere on your site.
To delete a Group, right click the Group in the Module pane and select Delete Group.
If the Group is being used on any Pages in your Site, the delete option will be disabled.
